ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services (ISD)Response & Recovery (R&R)department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The GO Platform User Feedback and Design Support volunteer engages with systems users to understand, document, and communicate user experience and needs. This position will also support system design, focusing on optimal user experience.

  • Build relationships with end users and system stakeholders
  • Design and manage user feedback tools and processes
  • Help translate feedback into technical requirements
  • Represent user perspective in working with product team
  • Help communicate system changes to end users
  • Define metrics to better understand user behavior
  • Help create design solutions through wireframes, mock-ups, simple prototypes, etc.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on design to product team


  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Experience designing feedback tools
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and presenting user data and feedback
  • Experience liaising between end users and product team
  • Experience writing technical requirements
  • Experience communicating system changes for improved system usage and adoption
  • Experience in product design
  • Demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to user challenges
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Comfortable working in a globally diverse team
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
  • Resume Required


  • Experience using design software, such as Adobe XD, Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, or any other tools for visualizing and wireframing concepts
  • Experience as a business analyst

Length of Appointment:
1 year, renewable
