Here at Bennington County Habitat for Humanity, we dream of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We work 3 days per week to actively build affordable housing opportunities.
Currently, we are building 2 homes in Manchester Center, and hope to break ground on 2 more houses this year, one in Manchester, one in Bennington.
Our work days are from 8:30am-2:30 pm, with a coffee break at 10 (with snacks provided) and a lunch break at noon (lunch not provided)
No prior construction experience is necessary, though it is certainly helpful. We are happy to train!
You can volunteer once, or every week, or whenever you can, no pressure, and no commitments.
More info can be found on our website at BenningtonCountyHabitat.org/Volunteer or you can go directly to our online scheduling site and make an account at https://volunteerup.com/Login.asp?w=i&o=347

Mission Statement
We build trength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Description
We build houses in Bennington County for eligible individuals and families. We are currently building our 35th and 36th homes in the area. Our homes are purchased, not given away, but at a fair and affordable price, with little to no interest rates. Our Homeowners are also required to put in 200 hours of sweat equity per adult in the household to help build their house. Our most recent homeowner put in over 330 hours herself.
The homes we build are simple, yet elegant, and highly energy efficient to help keep the bills low.
We also do home repairs and build ramps for people to be able to safely remain in their homes, or in some cases to finally come home from a long term care facility.
