Malengo Development Foundation (https:malengodevelopmentfdn.wordpress.com) is the fast growing Non-Governmental organization located in Usa-river Arusha. We are now struggling to raise fund to lift poor children and youth out of poverty through providing an innovative and inclusive education and skills teaching projects. Our current key focus is to build better tomorrow to young children (2-5 years) who are at home and are missing opportunities to have a good start of studying literacy and numeracy and to young women and men (15-25 years) who are missing technical studying opportunities because of their families’ poverty. Due to budget constraints we are failing to reach the big number of poor children and youth who are in need of our support. So, we are providing a volunteer opportunity for a person to help us to work as Fundraising and Partnership Coordinator helping us in mobilizing resources, create communications and manage grants related tasks.

Job Description:

  • To develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organization’s financial capacity to meet its objectives.
  • Facilitate the development of a MDF Resource Mobilization Strategy that includes securing new,
    diverse and additional resources for MDF
  • The strategy should respond to MDF’s funding needs.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, including fundraising meetings, taking corrective action to enhance and improve them when necessary.
  • Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure, website, annual report, DVD, poster etc.
  • In coordination with the Executive Director, cultivate and steward current and potential donor relationships, including foundations and high net-worth individuals.
  • Manage grant application process, including writing grant applications, developing slide decks, concept notes and liaising with relevant departments for information
  • Manage the Individual Donations programme including development and implementation of #givingtuesday strategy, annual Christmas campaign, and other initiatives in Tanzania and abroad
  • In coordination with the Executive Director, actively research, identify and solicit new institutional contracts and fee-for-service engagements / consultancy opportunities in line with MDF’s vision and program focus.
  • Conducting research on potential donors/partners such as trusts, foundations, companies and high net worth individuals. This includes proactively identifying funding opportunities, as soon as or ideally before they become public knowledge and constantly scan the horizon, network and solicit donor intelligence and share information on donor profiles (policies, preferences, geographical
    focus).
  • Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization
  • Management of bidding/proposal process, assigning roles, collating necessary documents, and developing budgets (including positive margins)
  • Manage and implement signature events and campaigns to increase the visibility and influence of the Convention, engaging with influencers and the public through social and other media.
  • To assist in mobilizing financial and non-financial resources from private sectors entities, individuals and corporate agencies.
  • Maintain relations with donors and ensure they are consistently and timely informed on important
    operational Issues.


Job Requirement
Experience in grants management, fundraising and partnerships.
