The purpose of the project is to provide support to young people who are either recovering from substance misuse or are impacted by the substance abuse of others. Be A Mentor will serve struggling youth by matching them with the right mentor to guide and support them.

Your role as a mentor will make a life time impact on youth who need your support and assistance in navigating through life challenges and obstacles.

Description

The Be A Mentor Program trains Mentor Site Coordinators, pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answering questions, and providing guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer their personal time to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.
