Engage. Evolve. Explore. Inspire. Capital Caring is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate Residential Care Volunteers. Our hospice volunteers bring companionship into the lives of patients and families during a time when many loved ones do not know how to deal with their own emotions. Although nothing more can be done to cure the patient, there is no limit to what can be done to make them as comfortable as possible, and to provide their family with the help and support they need as the journey of life comes to an end. As a Patient Care Volunteer, the method you choose to engage with the patients and families is entirely up to you. You could read, play board games, engage in conversations, listen to music or even just sit quietly as a presence-- the possibilities are endless! Please do keep in mind that as a Comfort Companion Volunteer you will be going directly into the homes of our patients. Once a volunteer request has been placed for one of our patients, our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you, proposing potential opportunities in your local area and from there, it will be your decision whether you choose to accept or deny any of the requests. You will never be forced into a home or situation that is not of your choosing. The only thing we ask from you in return is to commit to at least a 6-8 hour per month schedule and give the patient and their family the respect and attention they deserve.
