We are a small non-profit located in West Hartford, CT that believes that all children deserve to feel a sense of belonging to the land through both formal and informal outdoor education and experiences. We are looking for an individual that will assist us in increasing awareness of our mission, vision and core values of anti-racism, equity and stewardship through our social media platforms utilizing informative and relevant content. Social media intern responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Manages the root2RISE social media accounts and posts content.
- Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Manage blog section of the website and post relevant, informative content.
- Develop an awareness of local, regional, national similar non- profits to stay abreast of programs, services, share information and resources on social media and the website.
- Analyzes analytics to gauge the engagement of the communications.
- Understands the overall mission of the organization including the programs and services to be able to communicate those aspects clearly to the community.

Unfortunately, many outdoor spaces such as our parks, gardens and recreational areas are not always welcoming and accessible to all. We believe that outdoor experiences rooted in place, culture and community has the power and the potential to reconnect people to themselves, each other, the community and the world.
