ORGANIZATION: Interim Healthcare Hospice of Western Wisconsin

Interim Hospice is looking for individuals who have had their furry friends trained to be Therapy Animals.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide hospice patients and families support during a time which can be hard for a lot of people. At Interim Hospice of Western Wisconsin we aim to provide patients and families with peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are being taken care of by a full team of Nurses, Doctor, Nurse Practitioners, CNA's, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers. Our goal is to help patients mind, body and spirit in any way possible. "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others," ~Martin Luther King Jr.

Description

Western Wisconsin has been providing care to patients in 11 different counties since 2013 for hospice. Polk, Barron, Rusk, St. Croix, Pierce. Pepin, Dunn, Chippewa, Eau Claire, Buffalo and Trempeleau Counties. We have been fortunate enough to work We Honor Veterans and have 3 stars with them. We have been able to provide Pet Therapy and Massage Therapy to patients, and have volunteers who sing at Assisted Livings/Nursing Homes. Our goals are to first bring about peace of mind for our hospice patients and families, by providing that extra care through Volunteers. Also, to make people smile and laugh when it seems like it is time to give up.
Volunteers who join our team often bring help and services to patients and families that they might not have access to. Even without a medical background, volunteers have gifts they can offer.
