About us: Since 1987, PAWS has helped thousands of people and their companion animals find healing, hope, and unconditional love in San Francisco, California. We believe that no one should have to make the difficult choice of caring for themselves or caring for their beloved pets. PAWS provides free comprehensive animal support services that help low-income seniors and adults with illnesses and disabilities care for their animal companions.

Tasks: You will be doing PAWS Food Bank data entry using a company-provided laptop and monitor, recording distribution from a handwritten list of clients and products into Excel. For example, it might say, "1 bag of dog food" and you would enter either "1 Purina" or "1 Pedigree." If something is not in the drop-down list, you would confirm if it is truly missing (vs a misspelling) and then you would add it to the drop-down list. You will be working with Food Bank staff for training and for them to answer your questions.

Time commitment: Average of 2-3 hours per week

Time duration: This is an ongoing need, so we are looking for someone who can make a longterm commitment, at least 6 months

Location: Either Work from Home or the Shanti/PAWS Office (3170 23rd St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Ideal Candidate:

- Someone who enjoys data entry through Microsoft Excel

- Someone who is organized, detail-oriented is a plus

- Someone who can communicate efficiently and work well with others

- Someone who would love to support their community

Qualifications:

- 18 years and older

- Can come into the PAWS office once or twice a month to pick up Pet Food Bank

paperwork to complete project

- Able to problem solve IT issues in Excel

- Understands Excel tools such as: data validation, how to use tables and filters, how to use multiple tabs in a document, and how to use formulas such as VLOOKUP
