The Loring Greenough House is a non-profit organization which preserves and
maintains the historic 1760 building and grounds, provides educational programs and
serves as a popular community gathering spot. The LGH is located in the heart of
Jamaica Plain and is the site of various events, such as Thursdays on the Lawn, Friday
Night at the Movies, Porchfest, etc. An active Board of Directors oversees the
organization and is looking to fill the treasurer’s position.
The treasurer's responsibilities include:
- supervision of the part-time bookkeeper to ensure expenses and income are properly managed and accounted for
- communication with the accountant to ensure that tax and other filings are accurate and up to date.
- oversight of financial records
- custody of organization assets
- preparation of financial reports

The Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club, founded in 1896, is a non-profit, volunteer-run educational and social organization dedicated to improving the lives of our neighbors through historical, cultural, and educational activities. The Club preserves the Loring Greenough House and its grounds for the people of Jamaica Plain.
