Recruiting Organization: Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 129-year-old settlement house widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant children, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through a wide variety of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.

Our Older Adult Center is a hub for community activity providing those 60 years of age and older a welcoming environment to take classes, socialize, have meals and receive vital social services. We are seeking friendly, energetic volunteers to staff the Center's reception/information desk. Volunteers will greet visitors upon arrival and assist guests by checking them in for meals and directing them to classes, activities and performances. Volunteers will also answer questions about Center activities in-person and on the phone and assist with signing up new participants interested in joining the Center. The time commitment is one weekday per week, 10:00am-12:30pm.

To apply for this position, please contact Anthony Snowden, Volunteer Director at asnowden@lenoxhill.org or 212-218-0487.
