The Senior Legislative Director's main functions are to research legislation in a variety of state legislatures and update the COO on their status in the legislature and information about the legislation. Besides this, the individual will be involved in the Institute's biweekly activity of writing policy reports of contacting state legislators.

Economics: Clinton Institute is focused on upholding principles of fiscal bipartisanship and as such, the work of the Senior Director will be economically-focused. This means that legislation reported to the COO should primarily be focused on fiscal issues. Additionally, policy reports will have an economic focus, so an interest in the field is important.

Public Policy: As part of the team, the Senior Director will be involved in writing policy reports. These reports require complex solutions to global issues, meaning that the individual must understand whether to advocate for certain policies.

This position is a part-time opportunity for up to five hours a week. Clinton Institute seeks a hard-working, organized, and collaborative individual with an interest in public policy and economics. This is a position in an organization that values collaboration, trust, and high-level thinking. Because of the organization's smaller size, the Legislative Director may take on changing roles every few weeks, though their primary functions will remain intact.
