QUICK OVERVIEW

Educate the public on the importance of emergency preparation.

MISSION

L.A. Works in conjunction with Listos California is on a mission to prepare over 500,000 Los Angeles County residents with disaster preparedness information and rWe aim we aim to spread awareness and build a supportive network of community volunteers in the likelihood of an emergency.

IMPACT

Every Californian, regardless of age, ability, income, or language, deserves culturally comlanguage-inclusivee inclusive education to assist in their preparation for the likelihood of a natural or man-made disaster. We shall help by providing "readiness" knowledge and resources to the community through conducting Neighbor-Supporting-Neighbor Workshops.

VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a Project Leader role. You will be responsible for conducting Disaster Ready Training Workshops and hosting Listos Tabling events to educate the public on the importance of emergency preparedness and response.

Distribute disaster preparedness information

Introduce community volunteer opportunities

Encourage community involvement

Model safe practices and techniques

Teach and demonstrate from a Listos/L.A. Works prepared curriculum

REQUIREMENTS

2-hour Zoom Project Leader training

And additional Disaster Preparedness Information

Attend a pre-event briefing session

Comfortable speaking in front of diverse groups ranging from 10-50 people

Of possibly various levels of English understanding

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

BILINGUAL SPEAKERS ARE ENCOURAGED (Functional or Conversational Level)

The opportunity coordinator will prepare you with Disaster Preparedness materials for the workshop.

Monday, April 25, 2023, 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Thursday, May 11, 2023, 8:30 am - 3 pm
