Founded in 2017, Feel the Beat has led the effort to make dance accessible for all! Feel the Beat is a local Colorado nonprofit dedicated to making dance, music, and expression available to ALL! We have built a one-of-a-kind dance studio complete with a vibrating dance floor designed with the deaf and hard of hearing in mind that includes dedicated, passionate, and knowledgeable teachers.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Feel the Beat wants to ensure that our dance classes are accessible to all community members who have ever felt unwelcome or unaccommodated at a dance class. We are always focused on careful budgeting so that each dollar is used to help as many dancers as possible.
Feel the Beat is looking for a new Treasurer. We would love to find someone who has experience doing financials for a nonprofit but this is not required. In addition, we would love to find a treasurer who is willing and able to do the bookkeeping as well, but this is not a requirement.
Contact info@feelthebeat.dance if you are interested in putting your unique skill set to use in igniting a community dedicated in increasing accessibility.

Mission Statement
"Feel the Beat" is dedicated to bringing the expressive world of dance and music education to children who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and for children with special needs.
Description
Feel the Beat is a dance studio for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. We are focused on building a community for these children where they can learn and experience the art of dance in their native language along with providing an opportunity to connect with their peers. We have developed a curriculum that incorporates a combination of touch, musical vibrations, Sign Language and specially constructed tools to aid in the experience of music and dance.
The current state of dance education is geared toward the mass population of children, those who are able bodied and unencumbered by a learning difference or an impairment. We are missing an opportunity to support the musical and dance education to our children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing who need a more customized curriculum that incorporates their form of communication. These children are missing opportunities to experience the joy of music, dance and expression
