Elementary Tutor

We have several volunteer tutor positions available:

Elementary student tutor (Children’s Program) - 2:30-3:45pm Mondays; 3:30-4:30pm Tuesday-Thursday
Assisting with homework and reading practice with children in grades K-5.

Middle school student tutor (Rise Program) - 3:30-4:45 Mondays-Thursdays
Assist with homework, reading practice, and study skills with Middle School age youth.

High school student tutor (Rise High Program) - 6:00-7:30 Tuesdays
Assist with homework, long-term projects, study skills, and college preparation with High School age youth.

The mission of Vera Court Neighborhood Center is to offer growth and enrichment opportunities to neighborhood residents that reflect the changing needs, strengths and diversity of the Vera Court community.

Our goal is to identify community needs and provide high quality programming to children, youth and adults, in the areas of education, recreation, health and nutrition.

Description

Vera Court Neighborhood Center, Inc. is one agency with two locations and many great programs. The organization includes both Vera Court and Bridge Lake Point Waunona Neighborhood Center, as well as the Latino Academy of Workforce Development. Our programming is focussed on education, employment, and empowerment.

Education
Vera Court provides education programming for children, youth, and adults. From after-school enrichment, to academic tutoring, to adult GED courses, we provide a space for community members to learn and grow.

Employment
Vera Court understands that improved employment opportunities make a tremendous difference for individuals, families, and entire communities. Through job skills training, adult education, modern computer labs, and computer classes, we work to help people get and maintain quality employment.

Empowerment
Vera Court strives to continually respond to community needs and strengths, creating an empowering space for all. All members of our community are valued and play a vital role in making Vera Court an empowering space for children, youth, adults, and families.
