Interested in learning more about our health care system? Can't commit to a set volunteer schedule? Sign on to be a SHINE Counselor assisting adults age 60+ with Mass Health and Medicare applications. Meet with people on site at our office during business hours.The process of applying for health insurance coverage can be confusing and daunting, but you can help make the process easier!
Time: We're looking for volunteers who plan to stay with the program for at least a year.
COVID-19: Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services requires staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to have received at least one booster.
Training: Training takes place within weekday hours of 9 am to 5 pm. There will be a three-week, 35-hour SHINE Counselor training offered this spring!
How to apply: Respond to this post to inquire with the Volunteer Coordinator at Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services, or contact Minuteman Senior Services directly. Minuteman oversees our SHINE program volunteers and application process and offers the training.
