Mission Statement

Understanding the general Good Samaritan Society philosophy as reflected in The GSS Way, which reminds us that we care for the whole person, mind, body and soul. The Good Samaritan Society Way describes a context framed by our mission, strategic direction and vision statements. It also describes behavioral traits that, if lived out more often by more people, will dramatically affect how care is delivered and services are received. The GSS Way is a model for living and working together within the Good Samaritan Society that enables us to live up to the highest potential and calling of our mission. It does this by helping us see our work in the context of the three O's (obligation, opportunity, outcome) and then by living more intentionally the Eight Traits of compassion, acceptance, love, joy, perseverance, humility, honesty and courage as modeled by Jesus.

Description

Some Call it hospice. We Call it hope.

What is hospice? It's more than end-of-life care. It's more than a service to be provided. At the Good Samaritan Society, hospice is hope. Hope for comfort, hope for a peaceful end-of-life experience and hope that patients feel loved, valued and appreciated when it's time to say goodbye.

Care is based on the needs of our patients. Every life situation is different, which is why our patients deserve unique, individualized care. Our Mission is to focus on helping patients accomplish their goals - while providing them with an opportunity to make their own choices when it comes to their care.

What services are covered? Generally, all medications and treatments directly related to the physicial, emotional and spiritual services of the hospice patient related to the terminal prognosis. This even includes bereavement support for family members and caregivers.

Help is available 24/7.
