Recruiting Organization: Urban Vision Alliance

Overview:

Are you looking for an opportunity to make an impact with a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to eliminating street homelessness? Do you want to use your knowledge of grant writing and fundraising to maximize the reach of that mission? If so, we have the volunteer project for you! The grant writer will be tasked with researching and preparing grant applications that support our fundraising strategy and UVA’s mission.

Activities & Responsibilities:

• Commit at least 4 hours a week.
• Research grant opportunities that best meet the organization’s mission.
• Write grants/letters of interest and collect needed information from other development team members.
• Prepare team for additional stages in the grant application process following initial submission.
• Maintain templates that can be used for future applications.
• Record all activities in CRM tool.
• Analyze success rates and contributing factors to winning grants to ensure applications are sent efficiently.

Experience & Requirements:

• Professional experience writing grants.
• Strong writing and communication skills in English.
• Organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Google Drive tools, such as Google Docs and Google Sheets.
• Experience working with other team members to draft grants and using CRMs to track progress and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Ability to work remotely.
