Volunteer at DOROT Westchester to form new connections and address social isolation for older adults. As a DOROT volunteer, you have many choices, both remote and in person. In person opportunities are available throughout the northern, central, and southern communities throughout Westchester County.
Serve as a friendly visitor to a homebased older adult on a weekly or monthly basis; meet up for occasional activities or tasks through Response Team; or sign up for Telephone Friends to develop a phone-based friendship. Tech savvy volunteers are invited to help in our Tech Coaching program. We also have many opportunities for skill-based roles for former college-level instructors, social workers, facilitators and museum educators.
DOROT is a social services organization dedicated to addressing social isolation and promoting social connections for older adults. DOROT is headquartered Manhattan and opened a Westchester location in 2016. We welcome volunteers ages 18+ and especially those 50+ to volunteer in a wide-ranging set of roles.
