Academic-artists Reaching Towards Success (A.R.T.S) Foundation Inc is seeking tutors for our Winter/Spring S.T.R.E.A.M Program in Brockton, MA.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-5pm
Location: New Heights Charter School
1690 Main st Brockton MA 02301
Responsibilities:
-Lead S.T.E.M and support art projects, games and activities -Tutor students and aide them in applying technical skill to problem solve and navigate homework challenges
-Willingness to have fun, be flexible, be creative, be transparent and see tasks to completion
-Coordinate with Program Manager and Art Coaches to manage the following: Art Projects, S.T.E.M Projects, Snack, Breaks and Indoor & Outdoor Activities
Requirements:
-Must be available for 25 hours a week
-Must be 18 years or older
-Must have access to reliable transportation
-Must have a positive attitude/growth mindset (willing to reflect, improve, and be coached)
-Needs strong interpersonal communication skills (interacting with professionals, peers,
families, and middle school students) -Preferred to be enrolled undergraduate or graduate student or high-school senior
(graduating June 2023)
-Preferred to have strong problem-solving skills to improve services
-Preferred to have prior experience working with kids in a structured setting (academic,
sports, arts, other)

Mission Statement
Dedicated to providing a holistic approach for academic-artists (youth) led programs. Our mission is to encourage academic-artists to express themselves positively and gain sustainable skills that aid in academic, community and life success.
Description
To date as an organization we’ve:
- Served 53 youth from the city of Brockton and surrounding cities with over 16 weeks of programming.
- In 2021, we served 17 academic-artists and exposed them to iRobot coding, screenwriting, dancing, infrastructure and operations project management, music composition
- Hired 6 interns (ages 16-18) to participate in Art and co-lead activities with Art Coaches and S.T.E.M Instructors
- Awarded $6250 in scholarships to (25) academic-artists
- Hosted and Facilitated Lunch & Learns, Exploratory Field Trips & Final Showcase
- In 2022, we received $60,125 in grant funding from Massachusetts After School Partnership to provide the above mentioned services
- Received Employer Engagement Award from MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board
