Providence Englewood Charter School (PECS) is looking for young professionals with strong leadership skills to create a new Associates Board for the school. The Associates Board will promote PECS’ mission by increasing awareness of the organization through organizing special events and fundraising, while providing social and networking interactions. Because this is a new group, there are exceptional opportunities to take on significant leadership roles, and to help build a group that will make a difference in the lives of children from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.

PECS is committed to providing a top quality education to each child. There are a number of reasons your support is valued to maintain and improve the school:

* Out of 77 neighborhoods in Chicago, Englewood ranks 70th as far as median income.
* Out of the ten elementary schools in the area, PECS is the largest and provides a challenging school experience as a public charter school.
* PECS students were all provided with Chromebooks and raised their scores during the two years of remote schooling through the determination and ingenuity of the faculty, while schools around them, and in fact, around the country, had lower scores.
* In 2021, Principal Angela Johnson-Williams was named Charter School Principal of the Year by the Illinois Network of Charter Schools.

Associates Board members will need to be able to:
* Attend quarterly meetings
* Personally donate to PECS each year and/or reach out for additional donations through your personal network
* Help connect the organization to pro-bono resources
* Support special events and fundraising efforts
* Support students through a mentoring program
