ORGANIZATION: Raising a Scholar

Join a community of innovative and creative individuals who help organize events all year round. As a volunteer, you will engage in outreach and financial research opportunities. You will get the opportunity to enhance your communication and interpersonal skill while working to promote our cause. You will get to work closely with the CEO and CFO of the organization. As a member of the fundraising committee, you will:

  • Engage in Grant writing
  • Develop and maintain a long-term fundraising strategy
  • Design fundraising plans, recruit assistants, and ensure the smooth running of the operation.
  • Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities and actions (work with Secretary when needed)
  • Track and report progress toward fundraising goals
  • Monitor Fundraising and ensure ethical practices
  • Participate in promoting fundraisers (work with Social media coordinator when needed)
  • Participate in special events and fundraising
  • Analyze and engage in outreach for potential donors or sponsors.
  • Create a welcoming environment for donors and sponsors (eg through Thank you emails and monthly recognition on social media pages)
  • Maintain and Strengthen relationships with donors and sponsors.
All duties will be shared amongst committee members to avoid overburdening.
All other necessary information will be shared in Orientation.

Raising a Scholar is a non-profit organization based in Cartersville, Georgia. We aim to overcome educational barriers for students worldwide by helping provide the resources needed. We believe that every student, regardless of sexual or racial identity, financial status, ethnicity, etc., should have access to primary education that is equal and of good quality. Our goal is to help as many students attain a primary education and support them in furthering their education.
