Strategies Enrichment and Learning, SEAL is a nonprofit organization in New York. We offer excellent therapeutic programs to children.


Volunteer Job Description:
We are seeking experienced, fun, and creative individuals to conduct one-on-one tutoring with children in subjects, such as English.

  • Provide instruction to students
  • Write up lesson plans
  • Work on homework assignments
  • Participate in staff trainings
  • Set up Zoom meetings, record tutoring appointments
  • Make observations on how the student is progressing and make suggestions to the Director

Location: Virtual/on-line
Volunteer work hours are 5 hours per week, with a 6-8 month commitment.


Qualifications:

  • Experience tutoring children (this can be formal or informal experience, such as tutoring peers at school or your siblings)
  • Excellent knowledge of the subject you tutor in. (You will be required to demonstrate what you know).
  • Professional, responsible, and mature
  • Basic computer skills in powerpoint, word, screen share, Zoom, etc.
  • Must be available to volunteer 5 hours a week and commit to 6-8 months of volunteer work

  • Excellent training for those who are interested in working with people, children and/or the education field.
  • Once successfully completing the volunteer work, we may be able to provide you with school credit toward graduation, volunteer hours for a degree program, and/or a strong letter of recommendation.
