Sunday School Teacher Job Description

Sunday school teachers are responsible for creating engaging lesson plans for whichever students they may have in their class. Classes at Bios are broken down on the youth level by elementary. Middle. Or high school. And on the adult level by young adults, seniors, and adult classes each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Depending on the assignment that is issued to you would be responsible for teaching according to the lesson plans that you have developed, using the church's curriculum of the Bible and the church's education code. All Sunday school teachers will receive formal training on how the church's education code and best practices for teaching in a digital classroom work. Teachers are responsible for maintaining order in the classroom, ensuring that students are learning the lesson, and to answer any questions that may present themselves regarding the lesson. Teachers are also responsible for the task of creating a digital student guide to be posted on the class’s website.

The requirement for eligibility is that all teachers possess at least an associate degree in education. Be at least 18 years of age except for youth Sunday school teachers who must be at least 15 years of age with a work permit, or who are volunteers. Must pass a criminal background check and has never had any convictions for the following fraud, sexual abuse charges, child endangerment, or abuse charges taking advantage of the elderly charges, or any charges in relation to fraud via finances, or vulnerable populations.

This position is currently a voluntary position, the pay grade for this position if available is $15 per hour any volunteers in this position will receive a detailed letter of volunteer hours.
