MoPride Center is open Tuesday-Saturday from 1 pm - 6 pm. Receptionists will greet folks as they enter, assist them to sign in, and direct them. This position can be done seated at the front desk but modifications can be made depending on vounteers' need.

Volunteers may be asked to assist in light cleaning and setting up for different groups or events.

A typical day will bring in between 20-30 people and there tend to be some downtime for students who may need to do homework or crafters who may want to bring a small project with them.

The Mission Statement of MoPRIDE, Inc. is to act as a catalyst for building and celebrating the strength, dignity, self-determination and equality for the LGBT community in Modesto and the surrounding area. We seek to affirm LGBT individuals in their lives and identities by providing leadership, education, peer support, outreach, community development, visibility, and advocacy, including educating the public in tolerance and respect for all people within the LGBT community and other activities associated with this goal as allowed by law.

Description

Founded in 2014, MoPRIDE, Inc. has been dedicated to supporting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in the Central Valley. In 2016, we opened the doors to Central Valley Pride Center (CVPC) which has become out primary vehicle for providing services. CVPC provides a calendar filled with peer support, social events, and community outings. CVPC is also open as a drop-in center with a lobby and library for those searching for a safe space. We also have staff that can help connect our guests with community organizations that can support people with legal assistance, mental health, and a variety of other services.
