Events and Communications Coordinator Brief Position Description: Key responsibilities include: co-planning and co-leading a monthly Prayer Night collaborative event with a local congregation, planning social event(s) to offer opportunities for friendship and community, assisting with eNewsletter communication and social media presence, and assisting with researching/writing grants.

How Position Furthers Organization’s Mission: This position will further our mission of establishing the first L’Arche Community in North Carolina by creating opportunities to

share the vision of L’Arche NC with others and build community. This position will be vital for our grassroots organization to plan and implement programs and communications to offer opportunities of friendship.

Johnson Service Corps is a diverse, ecumenical community of young adults ages 21 to 28 dedicated to service and justice in Chapel Hill and Durham, NC. The year starts mid-August and goes through June; it is steeped in volunteer service, professional development, vocational discernment, justice training, intentional community living, and spiritual formation. You volunteer 32 hours a week at various nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle area. In addition, we provide housing, a shared grocery budget, group counseling, spiritual retreats, health insurance, mentorship, a monthly stipend ($500/a month), and a completion bonus ($1000 at the end of the program year).
