JSC Corps Member Position Title at Org:Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice

Programming & Administrative Associate Brief Position Description: The PAA will facilitate and support programming to advance the center's key programming areas: history, faith, justice, creativity, and activism. They will play a leadership role with the Center’s Faith Task Force. They will also support Center efforts to archive records and document its history.

How Position Furthers Organization’s Mission: Promote Pauli Murray’s legacy and Pauli Murray Center activities through communications and educational outreach strategies. Advance the Pauli Murray Center organizationally through documentary and archival efforts. Cultivate existing and additional supporters through an online presence with the regular use of social media, online newsletters, and giving requests.

Johnson Service Corps is a diverse, ecumenical community of young adults ages 21 to 28 dedicated to service and justice in Chapel Hill and Durham, NC. The year starts mid-August and goes through June; it is steeped in volunteer service, professional development, vocational discernment, justice training, intentional community living, and spiritual formation. You volunteer 32 hours a week at various nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle area. In addition, we provide housing, a shared grocery budget, group counseling, spiritual retreats, health insurance, mentorship, a monthly stipend ($500/a month), and a completion bonus ($1000 at the end of the program year).
