JSC Corps Member Position Title at Org: Families Moving Forward
Special Projects Fellow Brief Position Description: The Enrichment Programming Associate is responsible for the development and maintenance of all programs for both children (5 years and older) and adults, both in the shelter (NEST) and aftercare (Branching OUT).
How Position Furthers Organization’s Mission: Families Moving Forward helps families in the crisis of homelessness find their way home. We provide temporary housing, case management, skills education, and connection to community resources to help parents and children thrive in stable homes.
Johnson Service Corps is a diverse, ecumenical community of young adults ages 21 to 28 dedicated to service and justice in Chapel Hill and Durham, NC. The year starts mid-August and goes through June; it is steeped in volunteer service, professional development, vocational discernment, justice training, intentional community living, and spiritual formation. You volunteer 32 hours a week at various nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle area. In addition, we provide housing, a shared grocery budget, group counseling, spiritual retreats, health insurance, mentorship, a monthly stipend ($500/a month), and a completion bonus ($1000 at the end of the program year).
