Volunteer for the Indiana Historical Society in support of National History Day Indiana (NHDI)
NHDI is an educational program that encourages students in grades 4 thru 12 to explore history that interest them. Students express their creativity and historical analysis through performances, documentaries, websites, papers and exhibits.
Volunteers are needed to evaluate and rank these projects ahead of the national contest.
Judges do not need to have prior knowledge of a specific history topic to volunteer because during NHDI-the students are the experts! Judges will receive everything they need during an orientation starting at 8am-breakfast and coffee provided. Reviewing and discussing projects with students will run from approximately 9am to noon. Judges will then have a chance to have lunch, provided by IHS, and complete evaluations and rank projects. Judges will likely be done by 2pm. Judges are also needed for finals judging from approximately 12pm-5pm. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one shift or both.
We are in person this year and look forward to seeing you all there!!
