Board Role Descriptions: Various Positions
NAME OF COMPANY: Blossoming Butterfly Warriors, Inc
MISSION: To bring global awareness to health inequities amongst people of color with auto immune diseases in underserved communities to improve the quality of life through education, financial assistance, support, and advocacy. We are focused on achieving health empowerment for those that are affected by health inequities globally.
Responsible to: Board of Directors
Responsibilities
Positions are:
- Is a member of the Board of Directors.
- Chairs the Finance Committee.
- Drafts in partnership with the Executive Director and President the organizational budget and presents to the board for approval.
- Should be positioned to answer all questions about the budget.
- Monitors the budget and assists with forecasting.
- Files the appropriate 990 annually with the IRS.
- Files state tax filings.
- Files state tax exemption application and charitable renewals.
- Is a signer on the nonprofit checking account and can write checks.
- Will develop systems for ensuring organizational fiscal health.
- Will help create financial policies and controls.
- Is responsible for monthly account reconciliation.
- Creates and presents a financial report and every board meeting.
- Initiate and conducts audits with one or more other board members.

We are a new non profit that will provide the following:
- Provide educational resources through outreach and advocacy for patients and caregivers;
- Teach families how to manage their chronic health disease while traveling;
- Host community awareness events;
- Host educational programming for youth and adults
