California Council of the Blind Volunteers Needed!
CCB promotes empowerment through advocacy for all Californians who are blind or have low vision. Volunteers are essential to the mission of our organization. Support our annual convention and make this year a memorable experience for all! Our theme this year is Better Together, Connection, Commitment, Community, and we want you to be a part of it.
Here are the details:
When: March 31-April 2, 2023
Where: Hilton Sacramento Arden West

- Pre-Convention Prep
Help us prepare packets, swag bags, and other essentials for the upcoming convention.
- Registration
Welcome and check in volunteers and convention attendees.
- Human Guide
Assist attendees in navigating the Convention and Exhibits.
- Mike Runner and Room Set-up/Clean-up
Assist with hybrid presentations and Q&A.
- Hygiene Crew
Sanitize tables, mikes, keyboards and other surfaces. Distribute hand sanitizer and masks upon request.
- Election Room Monitors
Distribute, collect, and tabulate physical ballots during our elections.
- Election Phone Monitors
Receive, record, and tabulate votes via phone and text message during our elections at our
Election Headquarters at the hotel.
- Floater
Provide assistance wherever you are needed.
We welcome individuals and group volunteers. You will be asked to attend a short, virtual orientation on 1 of 2 evenings before the convention. If you are interested, please complete and submit the form at the link below. Any information provided will be kept confidential.

Mission Statement
Through a variety of programs and services, The California Council of the Blind, Inc. (CCB) enables people who are blind and visually impaired to live and work independently and to participate in their own communities. The Council has influenced change in such areas and issues as civil rights, employment, rehabilitation, transportation, environmental access, travel, recreation, Social Security, and other benefits. To strengthen advocacy efforts, the Council often works in coalition with other state disability groups.
Description
The California Council of the Blind, Inc. (CCB) is a statewide membership organization. Its members are blind, visually impaired and fully sighted individuals who are concerned about the dignity and well-being of blind and visually impaired people throughout the state. Formed in 1934, the Council has become the largest organization of people who are blind or visually impaired in the state of California, with over 30 chapters and special interest affiliates and a membership of over 1,500.
