The Southern California Linux Expo is an all volunteer run conference focusing on topics related to Linux and open-source based in Los Angeles, CA. This January will be our 14th year running the event. Our goal is to provide low cost and no cost training opportunities on free and open source software.

This year we are seeking some additional volunteers to help with our graphic design, illustration and page layout projects. Some examples of projects we encounter each year and could use help with include:

* Printed Program Guide
* Advertisements for trade magazines
* Banner Ads
* Signs / Banners for display at the event

If you are interested in helping out please drop us a line via email. We appreciate any assistance you may be able to offer.

Mission Statement

The mission of SCALE is outreach - our goal is to evangelize the advantages of Open Source software. Open Source software is any software that meets the litmus test of the OSI (Open Source Initiative) Those outreach efforts consist mainly of, but are not limited to, the Southern California Linux Expo. The Expo's educational focus is composed of (but not limited to) technical seminars and booths where, among other things, both commercial software and hardware vendors, and local non-profit groups (for example, Linux Users Groups), participate in product display, and software demonstrations and tutorials, respectively. SCALE may host, or participate in, other activities that align with its mission statement. We are a non-profit volunteer organization, and are vendor- and distribution neutral in our outreach efforts.
