Lakeside's River Park Conservancy

Riverbed Clean-up...funny!

Are you having a large family reunion or do you belong to an active Church, School or Service Organization?

Lakeside's River Park Conservancy is restoring and preserving the San Diego River. Help your local environment with a group or team building experience.

The River Park has several one-time projects for groups of 20 to 50 for watering, weeding, and trail building.

Tools and supplies would be provided, but donations are always welcomed.

Bring your own water and snacks. Outdoor work clothes and shoes required, no flip-flops. Hats and sunblock recommended.

The mission of the Lakeside's River Park Conservancy is to preserve and restore the biological integrity and beauty of the San Diego River while integrating recreational, educational and cultural opportunities for youth, seniors, families and citizens of East San Diego County.

Description

Lakeside's River Park Conservancy was founded in 2001 with the mission to preserve and restore the biological integrity and beauty of the San Diego River while integrating recreational, education, and cultural opportunities for youth, seniors, and families East San Diego County.

The segment of the San Diego River in Lakeside had long been the focus of extensive sand mining operations and heavy industry. Such industrial operations are coming to an end and a new phase in the river's life is at hand; one in which nature and humanity work in harmony and regional quality of life is enhanced.
