Our 10th graders have been learning about professionalism and how to join the workforce during our Saturday programming (aka "Super Saturdays"), and are ready to practice their interviewing skills. We need you to act as a hiring manager to give them valuable experience applying these skills!

Date: Saturday, March 18th, 2023

Time: 10:15 am - 12:30 pm

Location: Beacon High School 522 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036, USA

Virtual Training: Thursday, March 16, 5:30 pm - 7 pm on Zoom

NOTE: All volunteers will be required to provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination and booster shot (if eligible) in order to participate. All volunteers will have to wear a mask at the in-person events as well.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Volunteers will lead a 10th grader through a 20 minute sample job interview. Breakthrough New York will provide an interview guide with questions to ask, as well as a rubric with which to measure students' responses.
• After the mock interview, volunteers will provide feedback based on the rubric, and will work with students on applying it and refining their answers.
• Volunteers will repeat the process with a second student.
