The Sedona Greenhouse Project is organized in a weekly schedule for volunteers to lend a helping hand in growing local food in backyards and private farms in our community. We have a team of Farm & Volunteer Managers, who support each garden meet and demonstrate various tasks. Growing local food with us reduces resource consumption used in transport, regenerates soil and ensures what we eat is full of vitality.
Typical Volunteer Tasks
- Build healthy soil filled with microbes and dispose kitchen-compost
- Plant seeds, starts, perennial crop, natives and fruit trees
- Weeding & clearing of land
- Farm animal care
- Greenhouse building and maintenance
- Harvesting produce
- Washing & prepping produce for market
- Market Vending & distribution

Description
Sedona Greenhouse Project partners with Verde Valley farmers, educators, land owners and businesses to localize Sedona's food system. Our network emphasizes the use of regenerative agricultural techniques, where volunteers work on available land to grow food and harvest a grower's excess! Each SGP garden is inspired by natural ecosystems, so our bodies and the environment are co-creative participants in shared wellbeing.
In addition, we link up with local experts to put on educational workshops and events each month. This year, we are planning to put together CSA bags and have our produce available in more markets!
