Volunteers Needed! Sign up using the link in the description!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would like to invite you to volunteer this month in support of the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K. The Hot Chocolate 15K/5K event will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and we have two opportunities available:

Saturday, February 19: Race Day Volunteers

The event is held at First Ward Park (301 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202). Volunteers are needed from 5:30 AM until 11 AM.

Volunteers will be stationed at the Finish Line passing out medals to the race participants at the finish of their 15k race or their 5k race. ALL runners receive medals this year! Before the race, volunteers will prep all the medals for easy and quick distribution. 15k finishers will have a BROWN bib and 5k Finishers will have a BLUE bib that determines which medal they receive. Volunteers will be actively seeking financial support for the charity. This is a perfect position for energetic and outgoing individuals! Volunteers will approach participants and encourage them to make a $3 donation to St. Jude. The donation process is simple and taken via a tear-off tag on their race bib.

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

In keeping with the promise of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital founder Danny Thomas to freely share research findings with the entire world, St. Jude has an extensive media relations program to share science, research and medical discoveries, along with patient care treatment advances, with doctors, patients, parents and the general public.

The hospital’s fundraising organization, ALSAC, also works with media and the public to share information about the hospital’s treatment and research programs, and how the public can help advance this work.
