Shakespeare & Company, a highly-respected theater company in Lenox, MA in the heart of the Berkshires, seeks volunteers to assist Company staff at events for patrons, including galas and receptions before and/or after opening night performances.
Each event is unique and flexibility is needed as each staff liaison will have different needs. Generally these events are for high end donors, business partners, board members or potential partners. Duties could include registration, distributing name tags, bartending, serving and replenishing drinks, setting up the food tables, replenishing the food tables, cleaning the area and keeping things neat and tidy during the event, breakdown and cleanup as needed. As noted before, there may be other duties required depending on the event.
Volunteers earn vouchers which can be used for free tickets at Company performances.

Shakespeare & Company, a highly-respected theater company in Lenox, MA in the heart of the Berkshires, seeks volunteers during its May-October season. Opportunities include ushering, gift shop sales, company events, gardening, baking, marketing support, and our Oral History/Archiving project. Volunteers earn vouchers for free tickets to company performances and work alongside a terrific group of people. Shakespeare & Company presents a combination of classical and contemporary plays on four stages, with performances running Tuesday - Sunday, both matinees and evenings. Our corps of volunteers make up a self-managed group called Shakespeare & Volunteer Company, with a leadership team made up of volunteers working closely and in concert with theater company staff. Each volunteer job has its own Volunteer Leader who oversees his/her group. This is an ideal opportunity for people who live in the Berkshires full-time, on a seasonal basis, or for just an extended period. Come join us!
