We are looking for a few new board members for the Mental Health Housing Foundation Board of Directors. We are made up of leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sector who are dedicated to the organization’s mission. Mental Health Housing Foundation provides permanent, independent, affordable housing for those who live with chronic mental illness.

Board members are expected to attend six board meetings per year. They read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.

Board members are expected to have the financial knowledge to read and understand Mental Health Housing Foundations financial statements and to otherwise help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities

Board members responsibly represent Mental Health Housing Foundation to their respective communities and to advocate for Mental Health Housing Foundations mission, programs, and services as appropriate.

Board terms last for three years and board members can serve for up to three consecutive terms.

Mental Health Housing Foundation provides permanent, independent, affordable housing for those who live with chronic mental illness.

Description

Since 1991, Mental Health Housing Foundation has purchased, and built housing that meet the needs of those who live with chronic mental illness. Our most recent achievement is building and opening an apartment complex where tenants pay 30% of their income, have a dedicated mental health case manager and live in property manager. We now serve over a hundred people throughout South King County Washington.
