Are you passionate about the fight against Alzheimer’s? Join the Walk Planning Committee and help shape the movement to end this disease.

Committee members are the heart of the event, planning everything from the kick off to the wrap up. Some members focus on growing the event by recruiting teams and sponsors, others coordinate logistics and some work on promoting the event in the community. There's a role for everyone!

Commitments

  • Serve as a volunteer leader for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
  • Start a fundraising team and raise $500 to become a Walk2EndAlz Champion!
  • Recruit 3-5 friends to join the committee
  • Choose one of the following ways you would like to serve the committee
    • Phone calls to past participants
    • Phone calls to new participants
    • Social Media/TV/Radio Marketing and Outreach
    • Stuffing Envelopes/Dropping off swag
    • Representing the Walk at community events

Responsibilities

  • Partake in four Community Engagement committee meetings.
  • Work closely with your community engagement chair and staff partner to ensure the success of the event.
  • Recruit back, retain and steward previous years community teams.

  • Implement champions plan to cultivate and steward champions club

  • Strategize and implement ways to build community awareness about Walk to End Alzheimer’s and our mission.

  • Strategize and implement community/friends & family kickoff for Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

  • Model mission fundraising by becoming an Elite Grand Champion.

  • Secure next year’s Community Engagement Event Chair.


Personal Attributes: Well connected in the business community, comfortable making pitches and presentations, and someone not afraid to ask for large sums of money and coach teams.
