Position: Childcare Support Program Area: Afghan Employer Engagement Program

Location: IRCO Greater Middle East Center: 4915 SW Griffith Dr. Suite #216, Beaverton, OR 97005

Schedule: 1-3 hours 2 days per week during work hours and possibly some Saturdays. Exact schedule is being determined.

Position Summary:

IRCO's Greater Middle East Center and IRCO's Refugee Employment Services program are planning to enroll several selected Afghan clients who can participate in the Employer Engagement Program (EEP). This program needs the help of Childcare Support volunteers to care for the kids during the program activities/participation such as required ESL attendance. Volunteers will help watch the kids in the GMEC premises (in the same building) where parents are participating in classes and workshops.

The volunteer in this position should be someone who has childcare background, teaching background, a parent or someone who can watch kids in the absence of their parents. Someone who is familiar with social services, refugees and immigrants experience.

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Education certifications preferred
• Experience working in childcare, teaching, tutoring, and/or social services
• Familiarity working with immigrants & refugees
• Dari or Farsi languages are preferred but not required.

Time Commitment: 3-6 months

Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older
• Must pass background check including fingerprinting
• Must provide proof of COVID vaccination
