We are currently recruiting for THREE new AmeriCorps VISTA positions! AmeriCorps VISTA offers unique opportunities for individuals interested in serving their community. Build your resume, gain valuable experience, pay off student loans, build your professional network, gain Non-Competitive Eligibility to compete for federal jobs upon completion, and serve others by joining the AmeriCorps team at Goodwill. A living allowance will be given while serving which estimates to roughly 1,350.16 a month as well as an option to obtain a Segal Education Award upon completion (valued at approximately $6,895) to pay for a range of education expenses or a $1,800 cash stipend.

The Volunteer Engagement VISTA with Goodwill MOKAN will grow the capacity and quality of workforce development services for the underemployed and unemployed by engaging volunteers in our mission. This VISTA Member will: 1. Create new volunteer positions, as well as relevant training and onboarding materials for volunteers 2. Create volunteer recruitment materials 3. Recruit volunteers 4. Support volunteer communications and tracking 5. Lead volunteer recognition efforts We are seeking someone with a passion for the power of work and the initiative to develop something new at a 125 year old organization. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in speaking and writing, be detailed oriented, have good record keeping ability, and be self-motivated. We are seeking a VISTA for the 2022 year, approximately January 2022-January 2023.

This VISTA member must be willing to serve in-person at least 20% of the time, in order to engage our in-person programs and volunteers. Remote work is possible for the remainder. Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas is in Kansas City, MO. The primary working address for this VISTA position is 800 E 18th Street Kansas City, MO 64108.
