Looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer experience? NCOE is looking for motivated community members like you!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our after-school programs serve elementary and middle school students throughout Napa County. Under the general direction of the COOL School/ACE team, the volunteer will be responsible for the following:

• Help oversee the students during snack
• Assist taking student attendance
• Provide homework help to students
• Help oversee students on the playground/basketball field
• Engage with students during Clubs
• Assist during student sign out

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Basic knowledge of math and English.

Experience: Some experience in a classroom setting (not required).

We will train interested qualified volunteers!

Ability to speak in Spanish is a plus.

VOLUNTEERS WILL:

• Sign in at the main COOL school/ACE room and communicate with Site Supervisor or * AmeriCorps VIP Communicate and engage with students * Ensure students are acting appropriately. * Act as a mentor * Ensure students are doing their task * Help the classroom leader oversee a classroom of 10-20 students. * Help with homework and reading * Assist with other small duties that the classroom leader/supervisor might need help with.
