Are you passionate about making a difference in your local community?
Do you have a vehicle and some spare time to help those in need?
We have an incredible opportunity that will allow you to directly impact the lives of local families facing food insecurity. The Chico Salvation Army feeds about 200 local families every week and we are looking for food pickup drivers. As a Food Pickup Driver, you will be the driving force behind our efforts to collect donated food from local stores. Every Monday and Tuesday, we pick up food donated by local stores in our box truck and bring the food back to the corps for distribution. We are seeking someone who can drive Mondays anytime between 9am-2pm to Oroville or every other Tuesday from 8am-10:30am in Chico. Your role is crucial in ensuring that no good food goes to waste and reaches the families who need it the most.
No special license required-just a clear driving record and the ability to lift between 35-50lbs. Come have a part in feeding you local community and have fun while doing it!

Description
The Salvation Army of Chico needs volunteers to help with weekly food distribution on Tuesdays from 11-1 to pack food bags or from 2-4 to help with drive-thru food distribution. Ongoing volunteer opportunities also include childcare, gardening, light housekeeping, and organization.
