General Volunteers & Interpreters needed for the California CareForce 2023 Coachella Clinic!

California CareForce promotes the health and well-being of those in need through volunteer supported, no-cost healthcare clinics across California. Since 2011, more than 19,000 volunteers have provided free healthcare services to more than 40,000 individuals, delivering $16 million worth of care, through our clinics. California CareForce has held clinics in Oakland, Sacramento, the Coachella Valley, Gold Country and the Greater Los Angeles area.

The Triage area will take medical histories and provide blood pressure testing and glucose screenings. The Medical Section provides screenings, general health checks, and other basic services. The Dental Section will provide x-rays, cleanings, fillings and extractions. The Vision Section will provide eye health checks, vision exams, and custom prescription eyeglasses made on-site.

General volunteers are needed for the following: - Clinic set up & tear down support - Help check-in volunteers - Register patients - stock supplies - translate - sterilize dental supplies - Make glasses in the Vision lab - Escort patients from section to section - patient line control - Check patients out - Help on the food area - Various other roles

Volunteers do not need to commit to the entire 3-day clinic event but we do ask volunteers to commit to at least one, full day. Volunteer check-in & orientation times vary based on assigned role and clinic section. The earliest group of volunteers generally arrive at 5:20am and the last group arrives around 7:15am. We strongly encourage arriving on time so that you don't miss your orientation but if you must arrive late, or leave early, we'll do our best to accommodate your schedule. Please note, you may not be assigned your preferred role if you arrive late or leave early.

Coffee, lunch, and snacks are provided. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt and certificate of service.
