Sr. Nutrition Center Check-In Helpers

Volunteers will greet and check-in Seniors at front table by scanning or recording their meal cards. May also include distribution of menus, eating utensils and other help as needed. There's opportunity to help decorate center w/monthly theme, serve meals, or other tasks as needed.

Maximum of 10 volunteers, (2 scanners per day.) Individuals must be confirmed to participate. No walk-ins. New Time: 9:45am-1:15pm, Mondays thru Fridays.

Appropriate Attire: Mandatory closed-toe shoes, no sandals, flipflops or open toes shoes allowed.
If helping in Kitchen, hair nets and plastic gloves, must be used. Please wear short or long-sleeved shirts (no spaghetti straps, sleeveless, mid-riff or tank-top types). Shorts/skirts/dresses must be longer length, appropriate for bending and reaching and avoiding heat sources in kitchen area.

Required:
-Wear facemask duration of shift.
-No walk-ins, volunteers must be confirmed to participate.
-Register on-line at siliconvalley.salvationarmy.org (click on "2024 Sr. Center Check-In Helpers").
-Attend Volunteer Orientation (20-25 minutes), at least 3 days before first day of volunteering.
-Cleared on Megan's Law Registry.
-Complete Educational Online Course (20-25 minutes).
-Complete Vaccine Attestation Form.
-Initial USDA Forms.
-Age 16 or older.
-Volunteers going over 20 hours will need to complete Background Check.
-If not feeling well, inform Volunteer Coordinator & please stay home and reschedule.
