ORGANIZATION: Manluku Youth Development Initiatives - Tanzania (Mydia-tz)

Mydia-tz https://mydia-tz.or.tz is looking for an experienced volunteer Head of Programs to supervise a wide range of programs. You will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program. You will supervise sector managers and inform management on progress and performance. The Head of programs will be responsible for researching, planning, and implementing programs that keep Mydia-tz running.

A successful volunteer Head of Programs must have a broad knowledge of program management principles. He/she must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their subordinates.

Responsibilities:

  1. In collaboration with the Executive Director, provide leadership and strategic direction for the design of Mydia-tz strategic frameworks and plans, including the development of resource mobilization strategies to optimize the impact of large and complex programming interventions in line with Mydia-tz strategic priorities.
  2. Lead high-quality programs design, execution and delivery with innovative approaches that incorporate project management standards and MEAL methods, appropriate to the scope, context, and technical requirements of large and complex projects. Contribute to the complete rollout and consistent usage of project management standards. Lead planning of activities across projects from different sectors to ensure integration and efficiency in implementation.
  3. Lead the business development cycle of increasingly complex, strategic, and competitive growth opportunities from proposal development to learning and marketing, in order to ensure quality proposals per agency and donor standards.
  4. Develop or approve budgets and operations.
  5. Determining and managing risks to the organization.

Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as program manager/director or other managerial position
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods

Mydia-Tz is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization registered under NGOs act 2002, with the registration number ooNGO/R/1004 aiming at providing opportunities that empowers young people to create positive change through Education, Livelihoods and Health in Tanzania. Our main goal is enhancing and promoting good living standards to youth. It started in 2013, (Previously MANLUKU Entertainment).

Mydia-Tz is currently working in Tanzania mainland, with its headquarters at Kasulu district of Kigoma region - Tanzania, on youth's matters related to Promoting quality education, civic education, Livelihoods & Agriculture and Health (WASH, Sexual & Reproductive Health and rights).
