Make a difference in the lives of our Special Olympics Athletes! Team leaders move our mission forward by overseeing the coordination of Special Olympics activities within their Local Teams, and by making sure that Local Teams are operating successfully. Be a part of Special Olympics’ commitment to empower people with intellectual disabilities and create a more inclusive world.

Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Sports Team leader, assure that training and competition are being managed according to Special Olympics Rules.
  • Provide budgetary input to Regional Staff
  • Meet with Local Leadership team on a quarterly basis to assure that all needs are met.
  • Work with fellow staff and volunteers to coordinate volunteer and athlete recruitment efforts

Benefits: Make a lasting impact on your local community and on the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Volunteering provides an opportunity to enhance your resume, make friendships, develop and refine leadership skills and gain confidence. Special Olympics honors and recognizes volunteers through awards and years of service recognition.

We will work with your schedule so that volunteering can fit into your lifestyle. Most of the Team Leader’s responsibilities can be completed remotely, with opportunities to interact with our athletes and coaches at practices, competitions and other events.
