Hope on the Horizon has three locations for food donation pick-ups, all within a short distance of each other. You would travel to each location, pick up the donations and deliver them to our storage center, provide quality control and inventory numbers via text to our outreach director, and then sort for ready distribution to the homeless and families in need. The storage center site is located approximately two miles from the donation sites. We do not pick up from all three sites every day.
Ideally, we are looking to assign one day per week to each volunteer on a commitment of a minimum of a three month basis. Hours are generally flexible but we do have to adhere to each donation site's less busy times and the non-rental hours of the community center. The ideal hours for pick-ups would be between 9AM and 11:30AM, or 1:30PM to 3:30PM. This is a great opportunity to help feed those who need our help that do not have transportation to pick up food from available pantries in the area.
