Most shelter services lack the resources to sufficiently meet the needs of all of its residents. This includes food as well as staff to prepare and package the meals. By cooking take-out meals, volunteers just like you can collectively help feed hundreds of people everyday, without any additional strain on shelters.
How does it work?
Reform and Resettle has a collection of recipes and cooking tutorials, as well as in-person and online cooking classes for volunteers to attend. These will make sure your meals are delicious and nutritious, and we are sure you’ll learn a thing or two as well!
Once you are adequately prepared, you can choose how many meals you would like to prepare and Reform and Resettle will send you the ingredients. Simply follow the recipe, package the food into containers, and we will come pick it up to drop off at your local shelter. Alternatively, you are welcome to prepare your own meals, purchase your own ingredients, and deliver to the shelter yourself. Reform and Resettle will reimburse you for all costs!
Your contribution is greatly appreciated, and it alleviates some of the demand placed on shelter services. Cooking for Reform and Resettle even once a month has a huge impact.
