Animal adoption counselors find homes for pets in an animal shelter or animal control facility. In this role, you may greet prospective adoptive families when they visit the facility, answer questions about different animals, and try to find a pet that suits the needs of the family. When a family has chosen a pet, you review their application for accuracy to ensure the pet is a good fit. Sometimes you may need to help resolve conflicts with families who have problems with their pet or who want to bring it back to the shelter. You may also plan community outreach programs to highlight the pets that are available for adoption and market the services your shelter offers to pet owners. To increase community awareness, you may photograph animals available for adoption, create listings on websites and social media, and collaborate with on-site staff to care for the animals.

Mission Statement

At Pitbulls Are Family, we stand united in our mission to be the voice for the voiceless. Our unwavering commitment is to protect, rescue, and advocate for animals who cannot speak for themselves. We believe that every creature deserves respect, compassion, and a life free from harm. As an animal rights organization, we champion a no-kill philosophy, ensuring that every animal in our care receives the love and care they need until we find them their forever homes. Our vision is a world where every animal is treated with kindness and respect. We strive to build a compassionate community that embraces the value of all life, extending our circle of compassion to encompass animals of all species.

Description

Pitbulls Are Family was born out of a shared passion for animal welfare and a vision of a kinder world for all living beings. The seeds of our organization were sown in 2019, as a group of dedicated individuals came together with a common goal - to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. Two years later, in 2021, we officially gained nonprofit status and incorporated, allowing us to expand our reach and further our mission.
