Host Families voluntarily welcome children into their homes for short periods of time while the child or children's parents work through a crisis. They must be willing to engage in a long-term friendship with a family in need and strive to become an extended family-like support to a family living in social isolation. Host Families must also be at least 25 years old, emotionally and financially stable, and willing to undergo online training and other approval measures.

Safe Families for Children strives to keep children safe during crisis situations, prevent child abuse and neglect, provide care for families in crisis, reunite families, and reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system.
Description
Safe Families for Children surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a volunteer-driven movement that relies upon host families, a network of support, to open their arms, their hearts, and their homes to host vulnerable children.
